Last night the constitution started burning
And this old guy started yearning
For more thoughtful learning
By a population more discerning


But the wish for a free ride
Became an overwhelming tide
If left unchecked will deride
Our country's inner pride

When those, the 50% that escape a tax outlay
And On the rest their burdens lay
They will find at the end of the day
Their dreams in shattered decay

Health care paid by the other fifty percent
A home costing no out of pocket rent
Food by stamps their UNCLE sent
Work not required--in any event

This could not be heaven sent
Only there--do we get--if we repent
Laws of nature cannot be slightly bent
Thus, if too good to be true, it was never ment

Congress decided to do their evil thing
They are to have an unlawful spending fling
And now they continue to laugh and sing
Forgeting that in the end this budget will sting
